“SAm was originally my mother’s dog. When she passed away, sam and i rescued each other. the animal rescue mission allowed me to foster dogs and help them find a good home. Even though I became attached to the first few rescues, I learned how to provide a stable home and emotional support for a rescue dog on a temporary basis, and eventually that process  became a ritual, and that ritual became meaningful. So meaningful, in fact, that I eventually joined the board of ARM. And, now, the time I devote to ARM is in memory of Sam and how he rescued me.”

“I never thought I could love something as much as I love my dog Blanche. She truly makes me a better person. The Animal Rescue Mission has truly inspired me to make a difference to help rescue these beautiful creatures like Blanche and help them find a home and the love they deserve.”

“My animals are my family, the loves of my life and a part of my soul. Being a part of the animal rescue mission means I can be a hero to other animals and that feeling is beyond rewarding.”

“As a cat dad to 3 rescues, I’ve learned the true meaning of empathy and unconditional love. There is nothing more pure in our world than that of an animal who comes to you in need. Animal Rescue Mission is the embodiment of that truth and one of the only organizations out there that actually executes in spending the gut-wrenching hours to educate, scout, rescue, nurture, and bring these animals back to a safe, happy, and enjoyable state of being. It’s an honor and privilege to sit on the Board of such a beautiful organization that truly prioritizes these animals’ well-beings over greed and false promises of hope.”

Joie Laykoff

"As an only child, dogs have been my best friends They are the most loving and dedicated animals, and I've always felt fiercely committed to ensuring they feel the security and care they've offered me. For many years, I volunteered at the animal shelter to ensure that our most neglected pups received some human generosity and a reminder that they matter. Now, working with ARM, I have the chance to foster, raise more awareness around rescuing, and establish strong networks for dogs to be moved from the shelter system or neglected situations into loving homes. Nothing is more rewarding for me!"

“In my 20+ years as an animal rights activist it never ceases to amaze me the spectrum of people who make up our communities. On one end you have senseless cruelty and lack of education- and on the other you have The Animal Recuse Mission, and others like them. My support of ARM is rooted in my admiration for the grassroots community and it’s ability to work alongside one another to give even that one dog, one cat, one life- the chance for safety and happiness. At the end of the day, how can the things that we seek, not be the very same things that all life seek.”

“the animal rescue mission brought this bundle of joy into my life.  I am passionate about animals and I support the hard work, love and care that each person on the team puts towards saving animals.  Shira goes over and beyond to do whatever she can, at any given moment, to help find animals a loving home.”
